The City of Black River Falls / Black River Falls Fire Department/ EMS Division is seeking a Full-Time Emergency Medical Technician. The service area consists of over 1,000 square miles, with a population over 20,000. The Basic Life Support (BLS) service responds to 2,200+ calls annually. Successful candidates will possess the knowledge and skills necessary to provide Emergency Medical Care to patients in a wide variety of environments. Responsibilities will include respond to 911 calls and provide emergency medical care within the Scope of Practice for an EMT as outlined by the State of Wisconsin. Additional roles include participate in public relations events, standby at special events, assist with department training, and maintaining department vehicles, equipment, and property. Required Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent, Wisconsin licensed EMT or higher, Healthcare Provider CPR Certification, and a valid Wisconsin Driver's License. A minimum of 6 months of field experience as an EMT or higher, firefighter certification, and CPR Instructor is preferred. Regular hours of work are Monday – Friday 2 pm-10 pm. Additional hours may be required dependent upon department needs.
