AIMING TO PROVIDE INCLUSIVE AND MULTI-GENERATIONAL PLAYGROUND EQUIPMENT
TO MEET THE NEEDS IN OUR COMMUNITY

Expected Outcomes

An updated city playground would:

  • Provide a free, safe place for children to stay active
  • Help develop self-confidence
  • Improve social skills
  • Fight childhood obesity
  • Be a multi-generational activity, allowing parents and caregivers with disabilities or limited mobility to participate with their children

Community Statistics

  • Jackson County is home to roughly 21,000 individuals
  • 4,000 are children under the age of 18
  • 2,000 people with a disability under the age of 65
  • Currently, there are no all-abilities public parks or playgrounds within 30 miles of our neighborhood.
