Due to the severe weather we experienced last night and early this morning, the ban on dumping brush behind the fairgrounds this week during the Jackson County Fair has been lifted.

If you are a city resident, have brush to clean up after the storm, and have the means, please haul brush to the brush pile at 401 County Road R.

The City WILL NOT accept brush that is more than 6 inches in diameter or 6 feet long.

The City brush pile located behind the fairgrounds is for CITY RESIDENTS ONLY.

After severe weather moved through the area last night, wind and heavy rain related damage is being reported city wide.  City crews are working diligently to restore power, clear streets, and address multiple locations with downed trees.

Residents can place brush from storm damage at the curb and the City Street Department will work on picking up brush over the next couple of weeks. The City can only accept brush that is 6 inches in diameter or less and 6 feet in length or shorter.  Residents will need to find other means of disposing of larger debris.

If you believe downed trees in your area are from the right of way or from city property, please report this damage by calling City Hall at 715-284-2315 or emailing .  If emailing, please include your name, address, contact phone number, a description of the damage, and photos if available.
