TRAILER MOUNTED ASPHALT HOT BOX
The City of Black River Falls will be accepting sealed bids for the purchase of a 2-Ton Trailer Mounted Asphalt Hot Box. Specifications are available on request through City Hall (715-284-5514) or City Shop (715-284-5612). Sealed bids should be marked “Sealed Bid-Asphalt Heater” and sent to City Hall, 101 S. 2nd St., Black River Falls, Wi. 54615. Bids will be accepted until 11:00 A.M. on January 6, 2020 at which time they will be publicly opened and read aloud. The bid will have to be firm through February 19, 2020.
The City reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids, to waive any technicality and to accept any bid in the best interest of the City of Black River Falls.
When it snows, please clear the sidewalk in front of your home or business to give students a safe walking route to school and to make it safe and enjoyable for others looking to get out there and walk. Property owners are required to keep the sidewalk in front of their property free of snow and ice throughout the winter. Snow and ice must be removed from the sidewalk within 24 hours from the time the snow stops. For those times when ice and/or snow are packed down and cannot be cleared, you need to keep the area sanded and/or salted. Let’s all pitch in and do our part to keep our city sidewalks safe for our children and other pedestrians!
Unfortunately (or fortunately if you like this sort of thing) it’s that time of year where we get snow and ice in WI! Please be courteous of your fellow community members and keep your sidewalk clean. There is a city ordinance that states removal must be within 24 hours of when the snow/ice stops. The ordinance is included below. And a REMINDER…..alternate side winter parking starts DECEMBER 1st! It will be enforced regardless of snowfall. Thank you!!
8.06 SNOW AND ICE REMOVAL. (1) REQUIRED. The owner, occupant or person in charge of every building, lot or part of a lot within the City fronting upon a public sidewalk shall remove all snow and ice from said sidewalk within 24 hours from the time the snow ceases to fall. When ice is formed on the sidewalk so that it cannot be removed, it shall be kept sprinkled with ashes, salt, sand or like material.
