SERVICE TO BE PROVIDED: General cleaning of office areas, bathrooms, break rooms, entry ways, lobby areas, & conference rooms.

SERVICE LOCATION: City Hall, 101 South Second Street, Black River Falls, WI 54615.  Includes Police Department.

SERVICE HOURS:  Service to be provided daily Monday through Friday outside of normal business hours.  Approximately 2 hours per day.  No holidays.  City Hall business hours are 8:00am-4:30pm.  Police Department business hours are 8:00am-4:00pm.

SPECIAL CIRCUMSTANCES: (1) Evening meetings are conducted at City Hall the first Tuesday of the month and third Wednesday of the month as well as other evenings throughout the month as needed.  Service would need to be scheduled around these meetings so as not to disturb the proceedings.

(2) Elections require City Hall to be open from 7:00am to 9:00pm on election day.  On election days, services would need to be provided between the hours of 10:00pm and 8:00am following elections.

SERVICE RATES: Quote may be submitted as daily, weekly, or monthly rate.

SERVICE BILLING: Monthly.  The City of Black River Falls shall be billed on a monthly basis for work completed the prior month.  Advance payments will not be permitted.

Maintenance on the runway at the Black River Falls Area Airport is complete and the entry gate has been repaired.  The airport is now open!



The Black River Falls Public Library Board of Trustees seeks an energetic, self-motivated, and innovative Library Director for our vibrant public library.

Responsibilities: The Director plans, implements, and oversees all library fiscal, programming, operations, collection development, facilities management, and personnel.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree; Grade 2 Wisconsin Public Librarian Certification or eligibility for certification; Three years of progressively responsible public library experience, or five years of experience in a service institution with comparable demands and responsibilities. MLS preferred, but not required.

This exempt position is full-time, 80 hours per pay period, with some evenings and weekends. Salary based on experience, excellent benefits.

A “WISCONSIN UNIFORM BUILDING PERMIT” is required for any new home placed or relocated on any parcel within the City limits. Contact the Building Inspector for permit information.

A “GENERAL BUILDING PERMIT” is required when your project involves:

-An addition or structural changes to exterior or interior of your home or any accessory structure. This includes garages, sheds and decks.
-Any type of electrical, heating, or plumbing work that is not considered maintenance; examples of maintenance could be changing: a faucet, electrical device (switch, light), furnace or water heater if the same size.
-Putting up a fence or a sign.
-Finishing or remodeling a basement or rooms.
-Electrical work (Including service upgrades)
-Remodeling a bathroom or kitchen if you have any structural or mechanicals (plumbing, electrical, Heating/Ventilation/ Air – Conditioning (HVAC)
-Installation of a wood stove or fireplaces.
-Installation of a hot tub, whirlpools or swimming pools.
-All New Commercial Construction including additions and remodels to commercial buildings.

What if I do not get a Permit?

Ordinances and State Statutes require building permits. If you DO NOT get a building permit when required, the fees can be legally doubled, a stop work order will be posted and you could be fined for every day the work is not in compliance. If you are not sure whether your project requires a building permit, please contact the Building Inspector.
