The Black River Falls Fire Department is currently recruiting for the positions of Firefighter and EMT. The station is generally staffed from 6am to 10pm Monday through Friday dependent upon call volume.
Black River Falls Fire Department was started in 1872 and at that time was called Albion Hose Company #1. The department currently serves an area of 300 square miles for fire protection. This area includes the city of Black River Falls, and all or part of the townships of Adams, Alma, Albion, Brockway, Irving, Komensky, Manchester, and Millston. We serve 11,420 residents in our fire protection area; providing fire suppression, education, rescue, vehicle extrication and citizen assist. BRFFD also operates a county wide ambulance service that covers 1000 square miles, serving over 20,000 residents providing prehospital care and transport of the sick and injured. We serve this area from one station located in Black River Falls.
